Cormac O'Malley

Welcome to my website!

I am a 4th year PhD researcher at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Imperial College London. I am supervised by Prof Goran Strbac, Dr Fei Teng & Dr Luis Badesa.

My research focuses on designing and implementing novel methods to solve the operational challenges of future low-carbon power systems. My core modelling capabilities lie in formulating real world energy problems in maths, to then be solved either by convex optimisation or data-driven methods (or some combination of the two!). In particular, optimisation under uncertainty, including: renewable forecast uncertainty; generator outage probability; and aggregated EV connection uncertainty.
